Space-grade honeycomb panels with integrated heat pipes

BLOOH Solution manufactures aerospace-grade honeycomb panels engineered for extreme weight savings, thermal resistance and reliable structural performance. Options include integrated heat pipes for uniform heating and ice prevention on aircraft and spacecraft structures. Cores and surfaces are configurable to mission needs, with ESA-qualified, perforated honeycomb available.

Aerospace Honeycomb Panels

  • • Robust structural panels in high-quality aluminum; heat pipes can be integrated directly into the panel.
  • • Cores available in carbon fiber, glass fiber, Nomex® and Kevlar®; with or without perforation.
  • • Panels may be reinforced at edges and fitted with inserts to suit the application.

Surface & Core Materials

  • • Surfaces: aluminum alloys with various treatments, or glass/carbon fibers with tailored resins.
  • • Honeycomb cores: aluminum, glass fiber, Nomex® aramid, Kevlar®; perforated variants for ventilation/control.

Inserts & Edge Profiles

  • • Standard raw panels can be reinforced with edge profiles and inserts.
  • • Materials: aluminum, titanium, Invar, CFRP and GFRP.

Qualified & Perforated Honeycomb

  • • New methods enable perforated cores where required.
  • • Honeycomb panels qualified by the European Space Agency (ESA) for space projects.

Embedded Heat Pipe Panels

Heat pipes distribute thermal energy evenly across the panel to meet thermal control needs and prevent ice formation—ideal for aircraft surfaces and satellite subsystems.

Completed Projects

  • • PROBA-V: aluminum-sandwich structural panels; CFRP-sandwich solar array substrates.
  • • Additional flight programs: eROSITA, Solar Orbiter, ExoMars, BIRD, TET-1 & TET-2, AstroSat.

Current Projects

  • • EUCLID, PROBA-3 and PROBA NEXT (P200).

Production Facility

  • • 5-axis CNC: X = 5,000 mm (±0.008 mm), Y = 2,500 mm (±0.008 mm), Z = 1,000 mm (±0.005 mm).
  • • ISO 8 cleanroom (upgradeable to ISO 5), ~650 m²; 21 °C ± 1 °C, 45% RH ± 10%.
  • • Climate-controlled production hall >2,000 m² (21 °C, 45% RH).
